This isn’t the title of a new thriller. No, it describes the flight of capital from Europe that ultimately ends up in Bali, often passing through Dubai. Europe could just as easily be replaced by the United States in this case. Especially in the past year, we’ve seen a surge in capital following this path.

To get straight to the point: no, we don’t think Sumba will become the new Bali. Bali is unique and attracts people from all over the world. Sumba doesn’t have this and probably never will. Is that a shame? Absolutely not. The Indonesian archipelago has many islands, but none of them will ever become a second Bali.
