Mostly by scooter. For longer trips or mountain roads I sometimes hire a local driver, especially when visiting cultural sites where I want to take my time.

We usually arrange a private car with a driver when we leave the resort. It’s comfortable, safe, and stress-free, especially when traveling with kids.

Most days we just use our scooters. Sanur is easy to move around in, and since we live on the west side, it’s convenient for getting the kids to school. For longer trips or when it rains, we book a Bluebird or Grab.

Mostly walking around Canggu. For longer distances, I use a motorbike or book a GoRide/GrabBike.

I rent a motorbike, even if I am not the best driver (laugh). But it is the only way to reach my villa and to move around the small roads. For short distances, I like to walk because I enjoy the sounds of the jungle.

I rent a motorbike. It gives me the freedom to explore beaches, surf spots, and small coastal roads at my own pace. Riding around the south is actually one of my favourite parts of being here.

To get to Sidemen, I usually take a GoCar or Grab from the airport or my hotel. Once I’m there, I rent a motorbike to explore the small roads, temples, and rice fields at my own pace.

Most of the time I get around in Bali by using Gojek or Grab motorbikes — they’re quick, affordable, and perfect for avoiding traffic. When it starts raining, I usually order a car instead. It’s a comfortable and easy way to get to where I need to be without getting soaked!

Getting around Bali is definitely an adventure on its own! I usually rent a scooter—it’s super convenient for weaving through traffic and exploring hidden spots. But I’ll admit, it’s not always the safest option, especially if you’re not used to Bali’s roads.
For longer trips or when I’m carrying more stuff (like after a shopping spree in Ubud or moving between villas), I’ve found it super helpful to use Self Storage Bali by World Safe Service. They’ve got locations in Ubud and Denpasar where you can safely leave things like suitcases, surfboards, or extra gear. The spaces are clean, dry, and secure, so you can travel light and not worry about your stuff. Definitely made my trips around the island way easier!
Also, for late nights or if I’m heading to a party spot, Grab and Gojek are lifesavers—no need to worry about driving in the dark. How do you guys usually get around Bali?
